begonia dregei

Begonia dregei is an interesting species from South Africa. It is called semi tuberous but it has at its base a water storage mechanism called a caudex. This can be shown to good advantage when it is planted in a bonsai type pot. Also known a one of the 'Maple Leaf ' begonias. Do not overwater.
